TRACK 1: Remote Patient Monitoring and RWD - Open Source Tools and Resources

Hello Innovators! This is the main discussion board for patients, providers, researchers, developers, and all health tech stakeholders focused on remote patient monitoring and real world data.

*We would like to share a few resources that may help you design and develop an innovative health tech application. For example, below are implementations of remote monitoring in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease:

1) Sensors to detect breathing rate can help identify exacerbations in COPD. Multiple technologies have been tested to collect breathing rate, including pressure sensors, accelerometers, and video-based algorithms. (remote physiologic monitoring) https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/pdf/10.2147/COPD.S120706

2) Researchers from Australia co-designed an active video game for physical activity promotion in patients with COPD. The game tracked engagement, adherence, and clinically-validated physical activity scores. (remote therapeutic monitoring) https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7875701

*Additionally, here are a few open source modules that may accelerate your development timeline:

1) Q-Consultation Lite
Offered free to developers wanting to create a virtual meeting room application with video calling, live chat, user management features, and integrated with OpenAI. https://quickblox.com/products/q-consultation/open-source

2) Open Health Stack by Google
Provides building blocks for creating next-gen healthcare apps. Save time and make it easier to adopt modern healthcare standards (HL7 FHIR), leading to secure, offline-capable, data-driven solutions. https://developers.google.com/open-health-stack

3) Community Health Toolkit
Includes a collection of open source technologies and open access design, technical, and implementer resources that help you build and deploy digital tools for community health. https://communityhealthtoolkit.org

4) Phoenix Survey Builder
A web application that allows you to build healthcare surveys using the HL7 FHIR Questionnaire international data standard using an interactive, drag-and-drop interface. May help with screening or onboarding tasks. https://github.com/StanfordBDHG/Phoenix

*Finally, tell us about yourself and what you would like to see!

Hi would the following idea qualify for track 1. It a general purposes tumor segmentations app.

TumorTrack is a medical imaging app specifically designed to provide advanced image segmentation for solid tumors. It serves as a central platform for uploading, analyzing, and tracking changes in tumor images over time, utilizing cutting-edge AI technology. The app also allows for virtual consultations where HCPs can review and discuss the segmented images with patients, enhancing remote care capabilities.
